Introducing the new taraneon blog

As this is the first entry on our new blog, it seems appropriate to tell you a little bit about what you can expect to find here in future.

But let me start off by introducing ourselves. The entries you will find here will be written by Dr. Nobert Kaiser (that’s him) and Thomas J. Olbrich (that’s me). We both now work for the taraneon Consulting Group, actually we are its founders and owners, before which Norbert did a great many interesting things as vice president at Deutsche Telecom, as partner of a well-known consulting company and much more besides and I have spent the last 15 years working as a consultant and market analyst on BPM (not beats-per-minute … the other one).

So, what will we be writing about here? Well, sticking to issues we feel qualified to have opinions on (and voicing them) seems sound, so we’ll be sharing our thoughts on … anything really. But as this is a joint undertaking, the compromise with Norbert is that we’ll focus on ‘the improved process experience’, transformation of business practices, training and change-of-mindset issues.

Some entries will be longer, some will be shorter (there’s no rule), some will be serious, some tongue-in-cheek (a lifetime in process management does that to you), so come back often and hopefully we’ll have written something new for you to think about.

For those of you who are regular visitors to our german-language blog, please note that this one will be quite different, with different topics, different postings and we even use a different font.

In keeping with the now common practice of sending out greetings during important public announcements (I’ve just defined this first posting to be just that) can I say a quick hello to Steve Towers (this blog thing and the new website are the reasons why I been off air these past few weeks), Jon Pyke (who put his new blog up two weeks before we did, what kind of coordination is that??), Theo Priestley (who certainly knows why soft cushions were invented in the first place) and the guys at BPM Nexus (Gary Comerford and Dominic Hart, who are hopefully working on the script for ‘BPM – The Movie’).
